Distinguish discussion from decision
Quick conversation can solve a question without leaving an easy reference. Summarise decisions in an identified space. Conversely, topic-based spaces can become unreadable when different questions are mixed. Prepare precise titles, welcome and understandable rules.

Do not confuse federation with lack of rules
Spaces distributed across servers also have owners and local limits. Check server and community rules. A Matrix room app also requires understanding provider, access and encryption. These technical choices remove neither moderation needs nor participant-copy risks.
